1 Mile (1.61 km) Walk
Not up to a 5K? You can still support our local charities by walking a timed, one-mile loop of the fairgrounds.

The flat elevation and engaging exhibits make this an interesting walk for families and individuals of all ages. Bring your family and friends and patronize the many vendors and displays that will be setup around the fairgrounds.
Local charities receive 100% of the proceeds from the registration fee for this walk. We appreciate your support of our community.

Across from the Smith farm, on a raised hill amongst the trees, sits the iconic Palmyra Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The route will pass by the temple, affording runners a beautiful view of this edifice.

While the landscaped grounds are accessible to all from the Temple Road entrance, the building itself is not open to the public.
02
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The 5K route will turn around in front of the Palmyra Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Temple Road. This meetinghouse hosts Sunday worship services for two congregations. Visitors are always welcome.
A water station will be manned roadside, with restroom facilities inside the church available for runners in need.

The Smith Farm
At Temple Road and Stafford Road junction, runners will pass by the historic Smith family farm, home of Joseph Smith Jr., the first president and prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Thousands of tourists visit this site each year to learn more about the experiences of Joseph in this area. Those experiences include his First Vision, which took place behind the farm in a stand of trees known as the Sacred Grove. Guided tours of the site are free of charge.
